Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join their team. The position involves assisting physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment, promoting efficient patient flow, performing clinic support tasks, and adhering to compliance programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms.
- Record patient data such as vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Obtain necessary patient records and verify the presence of consent prior to procedures.
- Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
- Assist physicians with exams and procedures.
- Conduct delegated patient education, including distributing education literature.
- Obtain blood specimens and administer injections in accordance with protocols.
- Maintain room disinfection protocols and process instruments and equipment.
- Phone in prescriptions, make patient calls, schedule tests, procedures, and appointments.
- Assist with pre-authorizations and pre-certifications as necessary.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants strongly preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Certified Medical Assistant strongly preferred.
Additional Requirements
All qualified candidates are required to pass a background check and non-federal drug test (which excludes marijuana) post offer of employment and prior to hire.
