Job Summary
Core to our client's approach is to have a robust clinical care team focused on the needs of the members. Care teams are responsible for delivering excellent and compassionate primary care and coordinating the care of members with the broader healthcare delivery system. The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a critical role in supporting the Primary Care Physician (PCP) day-to-day, ensuring efficiency in the care provided to patients. MAs will work closely and collaboratively with their teammates to greet and room members, assist in assessing patients’ health conditions, and perform routine diagnostic testing during appointments. The MA-Float may be asked to provide coverage outside of their primary center.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intake with patients, measuring and recording vital signs, performing examinations and routine screenings.
- Critically listen and engage with patients throughout appointments, reporting changes in conditions to PCPs and specialists.
- Perform tasks with a focus on patient experience, including processing and returning patient phone messages.
- Change dressings, apply bandages, and perform first aid procedures under physician supervision.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and maintain accurate documentation.
- Provide health coaching to patients to support healthy lifestyle choices, following up with coached patients via weekly calls.
Qualifications
- High degree of emotional intelligence and integrity.

- Ability to work effectively with various seniorities and diverse populations.
- Strong communication skills and customer-oriented approach.
- Excellent critical reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite and analytical software packages.
- Ability to travel occasionally for company meetings.
Experience
- A minimum of 1-year work experience as a Medical Assistant.
- 6+ months of phlebotomy experience is highly desired.
- EClinical Works or similar EMR experience.
- Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
