Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data and Analytics team. The successful candidate will provide critical strategic and analytical support, building and maintaining a vast ecosystem of data and analytics. The role involves being a key technical visionary, helping the company find new efficiencies using technology, staying informed with developments in the data and analytics space, and assessing new technology applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying, implementing, and managing efficient, scalable, and reliable data pipelines and monitoring systems.
- Developing deep intuition for data to rapidly create or augment data assets for business insights.
- Identifying and implementing operational efficiencies through automation and/or integration.
- Building end-user experiences for self-service Business Intelligence (BI) across varying technical experience levels.
- Uncovering new insights by mining data warehouses.
- Developing vision and roadmaps for the future of data and analytics; implementing projects to achieve goals.
- Insisting on the highest data integrity with scalable quality checks and controls.
- Maintaining data documentation to enhance accessibility for users of all technical competencies.
- Managing the data catalog ensuring robust data discoverability.
- Developing training materials and monitoring engagement to maximize impact.
- Providing ad hoc analytical support and financial analyses for strategic decision-making.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data & Analytics, or a related field.
- Advanced SQL skills and scripting for automation (e.g., Python).
- Exceptional data modeling skills with various modeling approaches.
- Experience with batch and real-time data pipelines using tools like NiFi, Airflow, RabbitMQ, dbt, SQLMesh.
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake.
- Experience sourcing and modeling data from third-party APIs.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience with git for version control and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub.
- Knowledge of machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, pytorch, and MLOps infrastructure.
- Excellent communication, organization, and ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and with a curious, continuous learner mindset.
- Collaborative nature and good team player.
- Advantageous to have experience with financial planning systems and Big Data technologies.
