PFS Specialist - Insurance Collections (Remote, PST Hours)
Location: Fully Remote (Must work PST hours)
Pay: $26-$28/hr (higher end for lab collections & Xifin experience)
Schedule: 8-hour shift, starting between 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM PST
Duration: Contract (720 hours) with potential for permanent hire
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role:
We're seeking a PFS Specialist with a strong background in insurance collections to join our growing team. In this role, you'll work with Medicare, Cigna, Humana, and Medicare Advantage payers, handling denials, appeals, and aged A/R to maximize cash collections. Key Responsibilities:
- Work through outstanding A/R, including credits and denials, to reduce aging buckets
- Submit corrected claims and appeals based on payer guidelines in a timely manner
- Document account actions per Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist with training and coaching team members to ensure productivity goals are met
- Utilize Excel to track, manage, and analyze claim data
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing errors and discrepancies
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of healthcare insurance collections experience (not full-cycle billing)
- Expertise in denials, appeals, and working with commercial & government payers
- Strong Excel skills (Intermediate to Advanced level required - testing required)
- Experience handling high-volume collections (40+ accounts per day)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment with monthly audits
- Medicare experience is required
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with Xifin and lab billing/collections
- Background working with large payer mixes
- Prior experience in clinical laboratory collections
