Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our healthcare team. Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing (D.O.N.), the ADON will primarily focus on infection control and compliance while supporting the D.O.N. in maintaining high standards of patient care and regulatory adherence. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring the well-being of residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision:
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of licensed nursing personnel, providing guidance and disciplinary action as necessary.
- Participate in staff training, development, and mentorship to maintain high-quality patient care.
- Assist charge nurses in developing individualized nursing care plans for residents.
Infection Control & Compliance:
- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Oversee the development and management of the infection control and resident health programs.
- Define and maintain employee health records in accordance with Maryland State and Federal guidelines.
- Ensure an adequate and appropriate stock of infection control medical supplies.
Resident Care & Quality Assurance:
- Conduct periodic rounds to evaluate nursing care throughout the facility.
- Provide the Director of Nursing with pertinent information regarding residents' physical and emotional well-being.
- Attend and actively participate in Resident Care meetings, Infection Control, Pharmacy, Quality Assurance, and Nursing Care committees.
- Participate in interdisciplinary conferences to address staffing and resident care issues.
Administrative & Budgetary Responsibilities:
- Maintain records, prepare reports, and submit documentation as directed by the Director of Nursing.
- Assist in the formulation and monitoring of the infection control annual budget.
- Ensure compliance with monthly financial parameters related to infection control.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland.
- Delegating Nurse Certification
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols, state, and federal healthcare regulations.
- Experience in staff supervision, performance evaluation, and training.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and maintain a patient-centered approach.
